Architectural services

WA Projects is an architect owned and managed professional back office. As architects naturally we are interested in architecture and in particular the environmental challenges that face the responsible architect. We formed in 2007 to provide (initially UK) architecture practices with a quality back office that is consummate with their own. Broadly we provide the following services to architects:

Construction Documentation / Working Drawing Services

We typically produce drawings for RIBA work stages E, F and G. We are able to offer architect practices the ability to seamlessly expand their capacity for coping with the peaks of working drawing production at times when finding suitably qualified architects can be increasingly difficult.

We are committed to providing architecture practices with work that is indistinguishable from the work that is produced in their own offices; as a matter of course, drawing style and content, layering, naming and numbering conventions and drawing set-up are automatically applied. Where practical we send our architects on placements with the practices that we work with to gain insight into their methods and styles, and develop working relationships with key personnel.

We produce drawings in AutoCAD and Revit formats. Some members of the office also have experience with ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, Microstation and SketchUp, and we would be willing to develop capacity with these programmes as required. We are currently building our Code Book capacity specifically to support education and healthcare projects.

3D Visualisations and Animations [view our 3D portfolio]

Our 3D service for architects is essentially the rapid provision of 3D visualisations, usually in support of planning applications, tenders and bids. The timescales and deadlines which we meet can only be achieved by working closely and in parallel with practices, usually during early design phases, producing draft 3D images to help inform the design, then moving on to produce final presentation images and animations as the project develops. Our 3D team can produce quality images to high resolution usually quickly.

Standards in computer generated visualisations are continually rising. We recognise the need to keep up to date with techniques and software to provide our clients with an optimum 3D service.

Design Development Support

We believe that continued exposure to design informs detailing and aids understanding of the value of design. To that end we maintain links with a few modest developers for whom the company undertakes design work in the UK, this exposure to design work in the UK helps to inform our staff when composing details. These are primarily, though not exclusively, urban residential projects.

Our design development services are generally extended to those architects that know us well.
